The Friends of All Saints', Fawley - History Of All Saints'

The present Church of All Saints , Fawley was begun in 1170, to replace previous buildings which had been there since 971 at the latest.

Its original dedication was probably to St Nicholas, the patron saint of seafarers at All Saints’ was the last Church to be seen as a sailor's left Southampton water.

It is a splendid Norman building, with additions until around 1300, and has served the people of the parish for over 800 years.

During the time it has seen many additions and changes, as it has been adapted to suit the needs of the local community in its worship of God.

The Church is used for the regular round of daily and weekly services, and also for special events including occasion offices – baptisms, weddings, funerals - concert's, exhibition and school visits, and is open every day of the year for prayer, quiet and visitors.

All the money for the maintenance of this historic building has to be found locally - there are no central funds.

You are invited to help preserve this wonderful building for the future.
